Wax-carved signet
I carved this signet from wax and kept its broad face and heavy shoulders in the cast.
Carving
The top plane set the rest of the ring. I cut the shoulders back from it, then opened the inside until the weight came down without losing the blocky shape.
Next version
The cast kept every uneven part of the wax. I left those marks on this one. Next time I will sharpen the shoulders and spend more time around the face.
