I'm learning by making.
I'm Aaron, a serial hobbyist in Pleasanton, California. Studio Luser is where I keep the work I'm proud of and the work that taught me something.
The bench
I make one-offs and a lot of test pieces. Right now I am working on flush and star settings, basket construction, wax carving, casting, and hand-worked finishes.
Why show it
A clean final ring hides most of the decisions behind it. I want this site to keep those decisions visible, including the parts I would change next time. I also simply cannot make a clean ring right now - still learning how to do that part.
The name
Studio Luser is a play on my last name, Lu, and on staying willing to be bad at something long enough to get better.
